What is express transport?
It is an extremely important element in the proper and efficient operation of many Polish and foreign companies. Express transport is carried out using a vehicle that allows delivery to the destination in accelerated time – within 24 hours.
What does express transport involve?
It involves delivering a shipment directly from point A to point B, without the need for reloading. This type of fast transport takes into account the individual needs of each customer and allows for the delivery of goods with an urgent unloading deadline. It is an excellent solution for companies that, due to the nature of their services, must meet strict deadlines. These include, for example, companies delivering food products or chemical samples. Express transport is also used for materials whose absence could halt production. It is also ideal when a customer must fulfill an urgent or unexpected order.
Vehicles used
In both domestic and international express deliveries, smaller vehicles are typically used. These are vehicles with a gross vehicle weight not exceeding 3.5 tons. The advantage of this choice is that it is not subject to work time regulations and does not require a tachograph. This solution allows long distances to be covered in a relatively short time. Moreover, due to their smaller size and weight, these vehicles can deliver the shipment faster.
However, in some cases, the goods intended for fast delivery are non-standard or oversized. Such shipments require a special approach and preparation. It is necessary to select a vehicle above 3.5 tons that won’t generate unnecessary costs like fuel waste or unused space. Express transport includes both full truckload and partial load transport, also known as groupage. Various types of trailers are also used depending on the type of cargo, such as tarpaulins, curtainsiders, and containers.
