Koszalin is a city with county rights located in north-western Poland, in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It is the second largest city in Western Pomerania and the seat of Koszalin County. It is also the largest city of the Central Pomerania region. The city lies on the Dzierżęcinka River, near the Lubiatowo Północne and Jamno lakes, on the Koszalin Coast.
By population it is the second (just after Szczecin) largest city of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. According to Statistics Poland, on 30.06.2021 Koszalin had 150,801 residents.

Significant are also companies in the food sector — fish processing plants as well as meat, confectionery and grain enterprises. The plastics industry is thriving, as are the wood and furniture industries. The city also manufactures medical equipment on a large scale.
