Domestic and international boat transport is one of the key services offered by our company, iCaro Logistics. Thanks to many years of experience and a large fleet of vehicles adapted for transporting watercraft, we are able to provide our clients with safe, timely, and comprehensive transport of various types of boats – both within Poland and across Europe.
What counts as boats and yachts? Basic definitions
The term boats and yachts covers many types of watercraft, differing in purpose, construction, and type of propulsion – and therefore also in the method of transport.
Boat – a small watercraft used on both inland and coastal waters. It may be powered by oars, sails, or an engine. Mixed propulsion boats (e.g., oars + engine) are also common.
➡️ Example dimensions: length 3–6 m, width 1.5–2.5 m, weight up to 1 t.
Motorboat, commonly called a speedboat, is a small boat powered by an internal combustion engine, used mainly for recreational, sports, and tourism purposes – both on lakes and at sea.
➡️ Example dimensions: length 5–9 m, width 2–3 m, weight 1–3 t.
Yacht – a larger watercraft equipped with sail or motor propulsion, designed for tourism, recreation, or long-distance voyages.
Depending on their design and purpose, yachts can be divided into:
♦ ocean yachts – length over 12 m, width often 4–5 m,
♦ offshore yachts – length 10–12 m,
♦ coastal yachts – length 7–10 m,
♦ inland water yachts (open) – length 5–8 m,
➡️ Weight of such units can reach 10 tons or more, depending on design and equipment.
Smaller sailing yachts are often simply called sailboats – usually 6–9 m in length and weighing 1–3 tons.
All of the above – from small motorboats to yachts over a dozen meters long – can be safely transported by iCaro Logistics using appropriately selected equipment, security measures, and – if necessary – oversize transport handling.
